Instructor Team

Dave Keith
Joint Owner & Chief Instructor
My name is Dave Keith. I am a Chief Instructor, and along with Mrs Anne Jones, joint school owner of Bridge of Don Choi Kwang Do.
I started Choi when I was 42, which is a lot later than most. I felt I needed something to help with my fitness, so I thought I’d give it a go. It was a good decision.
I currently hold the rank of 3rd ( Sam ) Dan brown tag. All being well, I hope to test to 4th Dan in July 2018.
I really enjoy teaching our students, and helping them to develop their skills as they strive to achieve their own personal goals.

Andy Gardiner
Assistant Instructor
My name is Andy Gardiner. I began my training in Choi Kwang Do in 2009 along with my kids.
By 2012 I had progressed to become an assistant instructor, and recently I advanced to 2nd Dan Black Belt. I really enjoy the role of assistant instructor as I am involved in helping our younger students develop their skills.

Scott Ewen

Kira Mcbain
Assistant Instructor
Hi. My name is Kira and I am 17 years old. I have been training in Choi Kwang Do for seven years. Two years ago I became an assistant instructor, a role which I really enjoy.
Of all the disciplines within Choi, my favourite has to be ‘shield attack’, which I find to be a great stress buster.

Suzie Smith

Evan Mundie

Daria Munteanu
Junior Instructor
My name is Daria , and I started Choi Kwang Do 2 years ago , out of curiosity. After a few months I realized I actually enjoy the classes, as I have a chance to make friends, to learn self-defence techniques from some really good instructors and increase my self-confidence. I recommend everyone to try this sport!

My CKD Journey
I had left my jacket at Brownies and so Mrs Jones (also known as Amber Owl! And who was my Brownie Leader) was going to drop it off for me. She rang my door and was wearing a black Karate suit (or so I thought) and I thought WOW I can do that! Mrs Jones said come along on Monday to try and I have been every week since. That was over two years ago. I started as a White Belt knowing nothing, not even how to kick, punch or block properly and l have listened, trained and learned. When I have a grading I practice more and I have worked really hard from White Belt through all the colours and senior colours all the way to Green Belt. A few weeks ago I was asked to become a Junior Instructor and help train the new younger members. I am looking forward to new challenges and techniques and helping the others to perfect these.

Yoma Omaruaye
Junior Instructor
Hello my name is Ogheneyoma, Yoma for short, I am 10 years old (soon 11!) and I have been a red suit since September 2017. My favourite part of Choi Kwang-Do is shield attack because it relieves stress and it makes you tired!

Thomas Ziegler
Junior Instructor
Hi, my name is Thomas. I’m 13 years old and I have been training since I was 11 1/2. Recently, I became a Junior Leader, which is something I have wanted to achieve since I started.
In Choi Kwang Do, my favourite thing to do is defence drills, as they are a true way to test my skills while sparring.
